Karachi Hockey Association would like to pay a small tribute to Olympian Waseem Feroz – Pride of Performance, a true living legend of Pakistan, World Cup winner former Vice Captain of Pakistan Hockey Team and Member of Executive Board KHA, who for a long time mesmerized the Nation with his brilliant run and dribbling on the Left flank of a hockey field.
The Man with Eagle’s Wings started to play hockey from Gulistan School where the Principle Bhatti sahab and Coach Khushhal sahab supported him a lot, later he joined the famous club of the city PECHS hockey club, where Najam Hussain guided him to be a hard worker and polished hockey player. Waseem Feroz as a young kid used to clean the PECHS ground, made the marking before practice etc with other kids.
In the early phase of his career he joined HBL hockey team, Olympian Munawwar uz Zaman and Olympian Iftikhar Syed supported him by providing better opportunities for practice and competitions, where his Excellent talent was addressed.
He was soon recognized by the National selectors and picked for the Pakistan Hockey team at a very young age, he was a main contender for 1984 Olympics team but not selected as he was very young at that time to play in the biggest tournament of the world, Olympian Abdul Waheed Khan and Olympian Hanif Khan guided the depressed Winger that you are too young.
He represented Karachi, Sindh, HBL, Pakistan Customs, Pakistan Juniors, Pakistan Seniors and World Eleven Teams in his Golden career.
Karachi Hockey Association always thankful to him for his precious time and experience shared with Kids and upcoming Junior players of Karachi .
